I love what I do! Here's Why:

After college, I struggled with finding my way. I tried following in my family’s entrepreneurial footsteps, but was missing passion and my individual dream. I found that after losing the matriarch of our family, my grandma in 2008, at 67 years old. I went back for counseling to learn about grief and how to help others and in doing so found myself, my dream, my passion. I’ve been a counselor for the last decade, however recently again found my “why”. I was working with an adult who was diagnosed with cancer as a child, she worked for years to gain independence. After five years she moved out of her parents home and finally felt free. We helped her gain financial stability by applying for Medicare and when she was accepted, they told her she had to find a new counselor. Someone with a different set of credentials, no more schooling, just a different kind. She was devastated. I agreed to see her for a small fee at her request and this led to starting my practice. This was the push I needed to do something I always knew I loved. I since have hired four additional counselors each with specialties to help clients of all backgrounds who don’t want their insurance to dictate their treatment. I truly believe, finding your passion will help guide your way. -Nicole
